I have been working as an Illustrator since graduating from the University of Brighton in 1997.
I live in Sussex, with my husband and our two daughters, not forgetting our two cats and two dogs! I am always taking inspiration from my surroundings, where I find that children and animals constantly offer humour, chaos and much variety to my day!
I particularly enjoy working in watercolours with pen and ink detail, which I find adds expression and fluidity to an image. My other style, Inky Stick, is literally as it sounds, a stick and a pot of ink, giving a great freeness and spontaneity to an illustration.
Over the years I have taught both children and adults, from being Head of an Art department for 8 years, to a Private Tutor. I particularly enjoy working with children, they often see what we as adults look beyond.
Clients include: Paperchase, The Paper House Group, Marks and Spencer, The Leaping Snail Press, Magi Publications, Heritage Art Papers, North-South Books.
Early this year my ultimate dream was achieved when my work was taken to the Bologna Book Fair, and my illustrations were accepted for a children’s picture book, see my diary sketchbook for more details as it progresses.
I am also a member of The AOI and BIG.
